The cowgirls are me and my cousin Debbie Baird.  We played together at family reunions, and as we grew older I often spent a week at her house in the summer, way until our teen years.  We attended each other's bridal showers.

My Tiny Tears doll was always with me.  I also had a doll, a huge doll taller than I, made of soft fabric.  She had elastic bands on her hands and feet so I could dance with her.  I would also dance on my Daddy's feet when he was feeling silly and happy, entertaining my Mom.  He would sing, "Where o where is dear little Suzy" and "The little brown girl in the little grass shack in Hawaii."  That's when they started calling me Dear Little Susie and Suzybelle.  They still call me that when feeling tender.

My little brother Tim was born 18 months after me in October of 1952, so I was a little too small at age 3 to lug him around like I did the others.  I was quite interested in him, though.

This multigenerational photo is of my Granddad Raymond Jones Parish, his mother Suzy Jones Parish, my Dad Richard Jones Parish and Me Michele Ann Parish.

International Note:  This year the Korean War ended.
