Passing the Time

The last session of the water color series at the Senior Center was last  Wednesday.  A few of the women are younger than I, a number considerably senior.  Several will miss the fall session because they are going on cruises with their husbands.  I've learned quite a bit since my first class at the Senior Center with Hanlie last spring.  I think I'll continue with private lessons with her, and maybe take Tai Chi at the Senior Center, as my daughters suggest.  More exercise, Mom!

It amazes me that the more I concentrate on color and focus on the way the paint diffuses on the paper, how fast the time passes.  It's like getting lost in a book.  Or good heavens, jigsaw puzzles. That's why such activities are called pastimes, I suppose, as in "we passed the afternoon playing cards."  That would be Jane Austen, of course.
