Santa Baby

Rebekah's Santa Baby Shower
Talk about your cherished female rituals:  Rebekah's mother, step-mother, two mothers-in-law, one sister, one sister-in-law, one step-sister, and three best girlfriends made it on Sunday afternoon despite cold and snow to celebrate Biscuit's imminent arrival with tea and presents.
I say Biscuit because Rebekah and Ben's tradition is not to tell anyone the baby's name until after they tell the baby, hence code name Biscuit.  (The first baby was Peanut.  I'm hoping for Muffin, Cookie and Cupcake next.)  It was fun buying baby presents, especially tiny newborn Santa suit.  Swaddling clothes are the latest thing, this Christmas!
Me, Rebekah & Biscuit, Abi

Abi helped me with the Santa Baby invitations (as my Google Invite made it impossible for invitees to respond) and the favors and decorations.   Actually Abi did all the work, I just managed.
Sharon, one of my co-grandmas, found the place and ordered a lovely lunch of Christmas tea, muffins, quiche/chicken salad and cupcakes at SerendipiTEA, a little Victorian decorated house with mismatched china and hats and feather boas all around.

As R doesn't care for party games, the only activity other than chat, presents and dressing up, was for each guest to write a letter to Biscuit in a sealed envelope to be opened on Day 1, Month 1, or Birthdays One through Ten.  The four grandmas (Denise, Mary, Sharon and me) each wrote two.  Everyone wrote notes in the baby book.  A good time was had by all, and two days later a cute thankyou note arrived.
No sign of Biscuit yet.
