In May the Women's Spring Fellowship got blizzarded out.  We had a week of revival meetings called "Jesus Calls Us" which went very well.  Wes worked long hours driving to Colorado Springs and Denver to visit parishoners in the hospital.  I directed the choir and sang solos.  We planted a garden.

We had a festive Homecoming in the fall.  I brought over the corn shocks from our garden (oh, that sweet corn was sweet) down to Fellowship Hall, and a large black snake slithered out.  I had a conniption.  The farm wives were very matter of fact about chasing it down with brooms and cutting off its head with a hoe.  One told me what a waste that was, since black snakes are harmless and eat mice.  Abby was one year old by then and crawling up and down the stairs.

I worked with the children on their Christmas program.  I think that year we did our Christmas Crankie, a modern retelling of the Nativity, and we were derided in the paper by the Baptist minister.  He said that the minister's wife was doing the work of the devil.
