Sun on the Water

Floating
Stonebridge is keeping the pool open as long as the weather continues to be beautiful, as it is today.  It's a bit cooler, but the sun is warm, and a heated pool and hot jacuzzi are just the ticket.  The pool area was packed all Labor Day weekend, starting Friday, but this morning no one was there except Tommy who was checking the pH and hosing poolside.  A grasshopper and a water strider ended their days in the water, but except for a tiny dried flower, that's all that was in the pool besides me.

I was struck by the bright water reflections, and the patterns in the water.  I thought the shadows were inverted, like clouds, but it only took a moment to notice that dark shadows coexist with the bright reflections.  Noticed also that shadows, like art, may show a different take on reality, e.g., mermaid below.
