Intimacy of Dog Baths

Dogs, as children, require daily intimacies of feeding and potty habits.  Another  involves bath time.

Jesse and I took Sadie to Paws2Groom yesterday.  She's had dandruff, which has improved slightly with regular monthly baths in an oatmeal shampoo recommended by the vet.

One advantage to paying eight bucks to P2G to use their sinks, spray and towels is that the clumps of thick black hair don't clog the drains at home.  P2G also provided a medicated rinse to use after the shampoo and conditioner to address the scratching.

The first time at P2G, Sadie was leery of climbing the movable steps to the sink, and she shook violently.  Yesterday she climbed without hesitation and trembled only slightly before the warm water spray. I talked and hummed as I scrubbed and let her lean against me.

Once home with her "good grooming" treat, Sadie, shining and good smelling,  ran out her doggie door--I suspect to bury the turkey cookie.  My little girls never buried their good shoppers treats; on the other hand they used to run around like wild things before and after baths. No leash.
