We asked for it--we got it! Instead of tablecloths and crock pots, we asked for canned goods to donate to our church's effort to stock the local food pantry. Not only did Love Truck #1 overflow with groceries, but so did Love Truck #2, loaned us by neighbor Bill. On Sunday the morning after the reception we pulled up at the Our Center and unloaded 1,718 pounds of food.
Like most wedding receptions, ours seemed to whiz by, without time to say more than a word or two to anyone, but with dinner and dancing to a Rock & Roll band, and the most scruptious wedding cake ever (in four flavors), everyone said they had a great time. Pastor Steve drove down with cards and canned goods from our friends at family camp for the weekend. Grandchildren, neighbors, former co-workers, buddies and bff's, members of our church, folks we work out with at the YMCA and one couple who saw the article about it in the paper helped us celebrate on top of dozens of Facebook greetings.
